Ohlone Skies Promotion, 2024

About the Project

Chabot collaborated with Cafe Ohlone to produce a planetarium show centered on Ohlone beliefs about the Sun, Moon, and stars and the deep roots of those beliefs in their culture.


I had the honor of working on a movie poster and some promotional materials for the show.

Vincent and Luis from Cafe Ohlone dictated the color palette and typeface choice. From there, I examined the content of the film, which discusses the sunrise hitting Mount Diablo and the importance of the acorn harvest. I emphasized the chochenyo while making English translations easy to find and read. I showed Vincent and Luis a few concepts, and this was their favorite.
