Ohlone Skies Promotion, 2024

About the Project

Chabot collaborated with Cafe Ohlone to produce a planetarium show centered on Ohlone beliefs about the Sun, Moon, and stars, and the deep roots those beliefs hold in their culture.
I had the honor of working on a movie poster and some promotional materials for the show.

Vincent and Luis from Cafe Ohlone dictated the color pallette and typeface choice. From there I examined the content of the film, which discusses the sunrise hitting Mount Diablo, and the importance of the acorn harvest. I emphasized the chochenyo, while making english translations easy to find and read. I showed Vincent and Luis a few concepts and this was the unanimous favorite.
